DTI awards 27 units of Timbangan ng Bayan facilities in Bataan

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Department of Trade and Industry-Bataan thru its Consumer Protection Division had just conducted a Provincial Turn-Over/Awarding Ceremony of the Timbangan ng Bayan on July 23, 2015 at Lou-is Resort and Restaurant, Balanga City, Bataan.

The first in Central Luzon, DTI Bataan awarded 27 units of Timbangan ng Bayan Facilities comprising of 27 calibrated weighing scales and 27 housing cages given to selected public markets in all the municipalities of Bataan and to the City of Balanga as well.

DTI established the “Timbangan ng Bayan Project” to ensure that consumers are protected from unfair and unconscionable sales acts or practices and that they get the best value for their money.

Right after the awarding, DTI Bataan also conducted a Seminar on Weights and Measures to further enhance/capacitate the participants with the skills and know-how on the proper usage and dependability of the weighing scales to calculate weights accurately and its calibration procedures.
