Bataan holds PDC full council meeting

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Determined to attain its vision that “By 2020, Bataan will have the lowest poverty incidence resulting from quality growth attaining top-level Human Development Index in the Philippines”, the Provincial Development Council (PDC) chaired by Governor Albert S. Garcia held its full council meeting, last May 30 at the Lou-Is Resort & Restaurant, this City.

Said meeting was attended by the local chief executives of the 11 municipalities and one component city, heads of the different departments and national agencies, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the congressmen of the 2 districts of the province, representatives of NGOs operating in the province and other stakeholders.

Some of the significant matters taken up are the ff: Presentation, approval of the PDC and endorsement to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of the Annual Investment Plan 2018; Presentation and Endorsement of the DTI-DPWH Convergence Program on Roads Leveraging Linkages for Industry and Trade (ROLL IT); Presentation and Endorsement of the DOT-DPWH Convergence Program on Tourism Road; Infrastructure Program (TRIP) Criteria; and Presentation of Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).

The highest development policy-making body in the Province, the PDC coordinates, monitors and evaluates long-term, medium-term, and annual socio-economic development policies and strategic plans and programs as well as the corresponding budget of the Province that will contribute in the attainment of the Vision.
