BATAAN VAC-TWG CONDUCTS STUDY TOUR TO CAVITE

Atty. Norma Cajulis, Administrator of the Cavite Economic Zone (CEZ) welcomed the Bataan delegation. She delightedly informed the group that as of March 2014, CEZ has 296 business locators and more or less 87,906 workers. Aside from being ISO certified, CEZ has a fully-electronic business processing system that registers a firm in 20 minutes or less.

A courtesy call to Gov. Jonvic Remulla followed after the CEZ orientation. He was equally elated in welcoming the group together with Vice Governor Jolo Revilla and some department heads. Gov. Remulla said that the Province of Cavite is market-driven and was able to establish inter-connection (supply chain) among locators inside the economic zones. He proudly added that side by side with the cultural productivity of Caviteños, labor peace is maintained.

Later in the day, the delegation proceeded to the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) to observe and analyze its operations and management system. The PCLEDO focal persons talked about the assistance they provide to cooperatives, small and medium enterprises as well as other investment promotion programs initiated by the office.

The last stop of the tour was at the ISO Quality Management Office for a briefing on their ISO certification experience and its continuous expansion. The province of Cavite holds the distinction of being the first ISO 9001:2008 Certified Provincial Government in the Philippines, which they got in May 2012.

This Local Study Tour to Cavite is just one of the lined-up initiatives being undertaken by the VAC-TWG towards attaining the Province’s vision – to be the preferred location for eco-industrial investments by year 2020.
