CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Did you know that we already have an art gallery here in Bataan where the first ever Art Exhibition was held? It’s really amazing because others think that art exhibit is an elite activity.

The first ever Art Exhibit was launched at the Plaza Hotel last December 14, 2016 and ran until Jan. 14, 2017, with City Vice-Mayor Bianca Gozun, City SB Members and Mr. Delfin Magpantay gracing the simple ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Art Exhibit was made possible thru the efforts of Miss Karen Sioson of Orani, concurrently the President of the International Water Color Society – Bataan Chapter, who happens to be a Bataeña and the Philippine Guild of Water Colorists with its local chapters here in the province.

Of the art works displayed at the Art Gallery of the Plaza Hotel, four (4) of them were done by Bataeños by the names of Jason Castor of Cupang, Balanga City, Karen Sioson of Orani, Jo Suarez of Tuyo, Balanga City and Ron Regulacion of Orani. They generously joined and displayed their water color arts here.

According to Mr. Jayper Merla and Marky Aquino, who are presently managing the art gallery, preparations for the Art Exhibit, entitled “NOSTALGIA” is no joke because they have to really encourage the painters to have their arts exhibited in the gallery for a good effect it will do to our budding water color painters here in the province.

Merla explained that it was entitled “Nostalgia” with the idea that their “subject” art will fall in the common idea of their past nostalgic experiences.
