Garcia told newsmen here he targets public elementary and high school students in this component city as major participants for this initiative. A series of orientations has been lined up which began last August 18 and will last till the 26th of the same month.
The schedule of orientations started last August 18 at the M. Delos Reyes, Balanga, Tuyo & Camacho Elementary Schools; August 19— Pto. Rivas. Tortugas, M.P. Cuaderno, G.L. David Elementary Schools and Bataan National High School; August 22— Tenejero, Cataning, Cupang & Central Elementary Schools; August 26— E. Bernabe, Tanato, Cabog-Cabog, Bani, Bagong Silang Elementary Schools and City of Balanga National High School
Mayor Garcia along with Healthy Lifestyle Program Coordinator Shiela Zabala and Adolescent & Youth Health Development Program Coordinator Oliver Enriquez took turns in talking about healthy lifestyle practices, avoidance of risky behaviors and the bad effects of smoking, alcoholism and use of dangerous drugs.
Said occasion coincided with the distribution of notebooks, pencils and ball pens by the City Social Welfare & Development Office to 13,165 elementary pupils and 6,362 high school students.
Garcia said this is just one of his ways of paying tribute to Balangueño taxpayers who, by paying their taxes, make it possible for the city government to procure school supplies to give to students.
