Hongkong businessman eyes $ 40 M shoe firm in Bataan

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A Hongkong businessman is eyeing this City or the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in the industrial town of Mariveles, as the possible site of the $ 40 million integrated shoe factory.

New FAB investor to employ 30,000 workers

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A leading shoe manufacturer is set to invest at the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in Mariveles town and will employ 30,000 workers.

   Third termer Mayor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III of this component city, last Friday told Bataan newsmen in a press briefing at the Garcia residence, that Stella Footwear International, a Hongkong-based multinational company chose the FAB for their expansion in the Philippines.

Asian shoemaker for luxury brands to establish in Bataan

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Stella International, a leading developer and manufacturer of quality footwear products and publicly-listed in Hongkong, will soon establish at the Freeport Area of Bataan and agreed to have footwear parts prepared in this city, Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III announced Friday.

Representatives from 8 SEA countries attend smoke-free workshop in Balanga

 

 

 

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Representatives from eight Southeast Asian (SEA) countries attend in this city a two-day smoke-free workshop beginning Wednesday with the theme “Shaping the Future of Smoke-Free in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).”

   Those are the encouraging words of CIBAC (Citizens’ Battle Against Corruption) Representative Sherwin N. Tugna to students of Samal National High School (SNHS) in a message coursed through SNHS Student Supreme Council Vice President Hanz Andrei Siasat who made a courtesy call to Rep. Tugna at the House of Representatives last week. Siasat personally handed a thank you letter bearing signatures of SNHS students for the computer units turned over by the solon last April.

High school students plant trees along main road

   PILAR, Bataan – About 70 students of Pablo Roman National High School together with volunteers in this town planted more than 500 tree seedlings along the Joaquin Linao Road in this town on Friday, said Araling Panlipunan (AP) teacher and Club Adviser John Dean Regondola.

50 ASEAN delegates attend 2nd smoke–free workshop in Bataan

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – About 50 delegates from the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) are expected to arrive here today (August 26) to attend a-three day  2nd Smoke-Free Cities regional workshop  .

   City Mayor Jose Enrique S. Garcia lll yesterday said the 3-day seminar workshop from August 26-28, 2014 was organized by the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA) whose mission is to work together to save lives by accelerating the effective implementation of programs and policies towards a healthy tobacco free ASEAN countries.

Bataan has new CIDG-CIS leaders

   MARIVELES, Bataan- The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Community Investigative Support (CIDG-CIS), the civilian intelligence group of the PNP- CIDG, has a new president in the person of Al Balan, a native of this town.

   A respected businessman, Balan will take his oath as the new leader of the CIDG-CIS for Bataan come August 29, to be officiated personally by Party list Rep. Sammuel Pagdilao, the founder of the CIDG-CIS when he was the director of CIDG.
