Mariveles coop cited by DTI

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) cited on Wednesday its Best Performing Shared Service Facility (SSF) cooperators in Central Luzon and one of them is the Mariveles Bagmakers Multipurpose Cooperative.

DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez personally handed the recognition to Mariveles Bagmakers Multipurpose Cooperative from Bataan (computerized embroidery machine), Aurora Agri-Ventures Producers Coop, San Ildefonso Doormat Manufacturer Association from Bulacan (high speed sewing machine), and Eastern Multipurpose Cooperative from Nueva Ecija (shoe making machines).

Other recipients of the recognition were Florida-Lubao Organic Farmers Association from Pampanga (organic fertilizer machines), Health and Development for All Foundation from Tarlac (toll packaging machine), and SMZ Turnips SEA-K Group from Zambales (food processing machine).

“SSF is a strategy adopted to achieve the goal of the National Industry Cluster Capacity Enhancement Project which is to set up common production centers in order for Small and Medium Enterprises in priority industry clusters gain access to better technology and more sophisticated equipment thereby increasing their competitiveness, consequently affecting their contribution to the national economy,” DTI Regional Director Judith Angeles said.

“It is implemented through private sector partners who can provide sustainable facilities to house the machines or equipment,” Angeles added.
