ABUCAY, Bataan – The local government unit of this 2nd-class municipality headed by Mayor Liberato P. “Pambato” Santiago Jr. will soon have a new home.

Municipal Administrator Ernesto Vergara in a news briefing last Friday said the P50M new two-storey town hall will be located in Barangay Calaylayan, 300 meters away from the present municipal building, fronting the new Abucay Mega Market.

Vergara added that the provincial government led by Governor Abet S. Garcia pledged P15M for the project.

The mayor’s office will be located in the middle of the 1,600 sqm. ground floor area along with a one stop shop and other basic local government offices while the second floor will house the Sangguniang Bayan session hall, vice mayor’s office and  each councilor will have his own office. Architect Patrick Pomer designed the building.

Vergara also added that Mayor Santiago continues to prepare his town for the spillover of progress from nearby Balanga City as new investors continue to choose Abucay as the new location for their businesses.
