PCG-Bataan intensifies sea patrol versus illegal fishers, drugs

LIMAY, Bataan – The Philippine Coast Guard-Bataan stationed in Barangay Lamao here says they have intensified their sea patrols not just against illegal fishers and other lawless elements like pirates but also against possible entry of illegal drugs in the province.


PCG-Bataan Commander Fideles Salidao on Tuesday reported that they are in constant coordination with the Bataan police’s maritime team, bantay dagat operatives and local government units of coastal towns.


“As you can see there are no reported recent apprehensions of illegal fishermen unlike before,” Salidao told


He added that since a news report on floating shabu laboratory on Subic Bay was recently discovered through a police intelligence operations they have exerted all efforts to make sure it won’t happen on Bataan shores.


“As of now the provincial government led by our Governor Abet Garcia, is scheduled to form this intensified Bataan Anti-Illegal Fishing Task Force with other major stakeholders including us. This will further enhance the security measures in ours seas surrounding the province,” he said.
