Petron donates raincoats to MBDA

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Petron Bataan Refinery (PBR) based in the booming industrial town of Limay recently distributed raincoats to the personnel of the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA).

In a simple turn over rites last Thursday, MBDA General Manager Charlie Pizarro personally received the raincoats which will be used by their personnel on patrol along Roman Highway and the province’s major roads.

“The MBDA formally requested this. The donation is our company’s way of supporting different government organizations such as MBDA in the fulfillment of their duties,” Edgardo S. Ruiz PBR Community Relations Officer said.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa Petron na palaging nakasuporta sa ating mga programa at proyekto. Malaking tulong ito sa aming mga personnel na walang pagod na nagpa patrol sa ating mga kalsada 24 hours a day,” Pizarro told 1Bataan.com.

As the country’s largest oil refining and marketing company, Petron continuously aspires to be socially responsible and good corporate citizens by integrating sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs into their business prospects.

Through Petron Foundation Inc. (PFI), their CSR arm, the company launches and maintains various initiatives that address national concerns in essential areas such as education, environment, health and human services, and other advocacies in partnership with the communities, local and national government units, like-minded organizations, and employee-volunteers.

Their goal is to contribute to a brighter future for Filipinos by fueling H.O.P.E. (Helping the Filipino Children and Youth Overcome Poverty through Education), the company’s flagship program in education.

PBR is the country’s largest integrated crude oil refinery and petrochemicals complex. Inaugurated in 1961 with a capacity of 25,000 barrels per day, it has grown to its current rated capacity of 180,000 barrels-per-day.

Located in its huge plant in Limay town, PBR processes crude oil into a full range of petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), jet fuel, kerosene, and industrial fuel oil. PBR also produces petrochemical feedstock benzene, toluene, mixed xylene, and propylene.

PBR is at the heart of Petron’s operations. For over 50 years, the facility has served the country’s demand for quality fuel products, ensuring a reliable and continuous supply to power the nation forward. Run by Filipino refining experts, PBR is a showcase of the world-class technical capability of our countrymen as well as first-rate technology.
