CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – If the Cebu Jail Management and Penology is known for its “Dancing Inmates,” the Bataan District Jail will soon have its “earning inmates” once they transfer to their new site at the MBDA Command Center, which is awaiting accreditation from PEZA as an investment area.

Bataan District Jail  authorities said that the brilliant idea of Governor Abet Garcia reflect their vision of instilling discipline, self-reliance and performance oriented not only among their personnel but also among their inmates.

In a recent talk with the Governor, Bataan District Jail  officials said that they were amazed on the 3-hectare area and the modern structures that will be built and designed for Bataan District Jail . It includes a large and spacious facility for inmate cells and a covered and convenient space for visitors. Most importantly, according to the officials, is the large training room for inmates to learn different skills with the help of TESDA.

Governor Garcia said that he wants to maximize the 3,000 inmates to learn different skills which may be needed by locators at AFAB such as making chips, parts of the computers, garments, bags and others.

This way, they will be busy while in jail and earn for their families which could also be the source of their income when they go back to their respective families. It could also be an added income for Bataan District Jail , officials said.
