Bagac cashew growers to receive cash assistance from Capitol, DOLE

   CAPITOL, Bataan- The Saysain, Bagac Cashew growers will soon receive cash assistance from the Provincial Capitol and Department of Labor and Employment to further boost their livelihood.

   The Cashew growers assistance fund came after Gov. Abet S. Garcia granted P250,000 to them which is the Province’s counter part for “DOLE’s Kabuhayan” program in the region. DOLE will also provide another P200,000 in cash aside from providing them (Cashew growers) with technical assistance.

The Province of Bataan thru our Honorable Governor Albert S. Garcia as the Chairman of the Provincial Council on Disability Affairs (PCDA) and Latter Day Saints represented by Mr. Benson Misaluchia, Area Welfare Service Manager, signed a Memorandum of Agreement last April 14, 2014 as partners in the provision of mobility devices for persons with disabilities.

Provincial forum on Expanded Senior Citizens Act held

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9994, an amendment to R.A. 9257, otherwise known as the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 and for other purposes, the Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office in partnership with the Bataan League of OSCA (Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs) Heads and City/Municipal Social Welfare & Development Offices had conducted a Provincial Forum with the Drugstores Association of the Philippines (DSAP)-Bataan Chapter, Funeral Parlor Owners and Grocery Store/Supermarket Owners last May 8, 2014 at Lou Is Resort & Restaurant. Said forum became an avenue of discussion on issues and concerns in the implementation of the aforesaid law.

Bataan disaster preparedness summit

BALANGA CITY,  Bataan —  Nagkaisa kaninang umaga ang mga local chief executives ng Bataan para sa pagbuo ng isang local disaster risk reduction management program para sa mabilis na pagtugon at paghahanda sa kalamidad sa unang araw ng isinagawang 2-day Provincial Summit on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) sa Crown Royale Hotel dito.

Ayon kay  Region 3 Director Josefina Timoteo, ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) at Chairperson ng Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC), ang  Bataan ang kauna-unahang probinsya na nagsagawa ng provincial summit bilang tugon sa direktiba ni NDRRMC Chairperson at  Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin para palakasin ang papel at responsibilidad ng mga local chief executives upang maging epektibo at mapahusay ang paghahatid ng serbisyo ng pamahalaan partikular na sa panahon ng kalamidad at sakuna.

To decongest Hermosa-Guagua transmission line NGCP seeks ERC nod to implement P 237 million project

HERMOSA, Bataan — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is seeking the approval from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for a high priority project which will ease the imminent congestion of the Hermosa – Guagua 69-kiloVolt (kV) transmission line by constructing the 17-kilometer Hermosa – Floridablanca line.

Ernest Vidal, the regional corporate communications officer for Central Luzon, in a press statement, said that the approval of the Prayer for Provisional Authority will also enable the system operator to expand its Hermosa substation located in Barangay Balsik, this town.

The existing Hermosa – Guagua line currently serves Pampanga II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PELCO II), which is forecasted to significantly increase in peak load by 2020.
