76 cultural mappers contribute to historical preservation of Bataan

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – City Administrator Rodolfo de Mesa extolled seventy six (76) teachers who received their certificates of completion during the Cultural Heritage Mapping turn-over ceremony held last Friday at Louis Restaurant here.

De Mesa in his welcome remarks congratulated the graduates for their dedication and selfless desires to be warriors for awareness, appreciation, protection, utilization as well as designing of our province’s heritage and sustainable framework.

He stressed that the graduates’ deep sense of appreciation and passion pushed them to explore the value of the past to be able to inspire the next generation by creating sustainable futures as basic requirements to become successful in mapping our culture. He explained that the cultural mapping is an action journey to bring out our province’s unique assets and strength and be able to tell special stories.

He added the cultural mappers are building lives for others because what they did are not just marble that will perish, but it engraves the value of our heritage in the hearts of every Bataeño that time cannot efface.

Bataan Vice Governor Efren E. Pascual, Jr. acknowledged the extraordinary performance of the cultural mappers in reigniting the rich historical and cultural ideals of the past as the motivational factors to achieve greater glory for the future generations.

Pascual, a great grandson of the most respected poet in the country Francisco Balagtas, said the momentous facts gathered by the cultural mappers are nonetheless labelled as achievements in preserving the cultural heritage of the province.

Their historical output will naturally enrich cultural landmarks and information galore for visitors and local residents that would promote our tourism industry, Pascual said.

He cited those documents are definitely intellectual and rich guides in the future development scheme including respecting the timeless unique cultural and historical sites.
