…. loved by his pupils and respected by parents and the community.
Being a teacher is a tough job but it can make a difference in a school and in the pupils’ lives. Whenever I ask pupils what kind of teacher they like the most, they always say, I like a teacher who is…
Values oriented… a teacher who doesn’t just teach the subjects by the book but shares with the pupils his inner person, values, and the good character that can be transferred to the learners.
Fair and just… a teacher who does not have favorites in class. It is very disappointing for pupils to feel that he or she is not one of the favorites, so a teacher must always make sure that all pupils feel that they are treated fairly.
True and respected… a teacher who is not pretending to be an expert and knows everything in this world but one who admits that he also commits mistake and is willing to correct himself, a teacher who knows how to respect his pupils and listen to them with love and affection.
Sensitive… a teacher who shows concern, readily affected and highly responsive to the needs and feelings of his pupils, someone who is able to understand the pupils’ behaviour and empathize with them.
Patient… a teacher who remains calm and composed despite all the pressures and stress brought about by his job and the surroundings, someone who knows how to control his temper and respond to difficult situations positively with high tolerance.
Excellent… a teacher who always gives his best to ensure that the pupils learn, someone who teaches with confidence and pushes his pupils to achieve greater things and be excellent themselves.
All these good characters, if possessed by a teacher, will surely help transform our young people so that they will truly become the hope of our nation.
