Mariveles to become an industrial and tourism haven

MARIVELES, Bataan – Mayor Ace Jello “AJ”Concepcion is quietly optimistic of the robust and dynamic industrial and tourism evolution of this town into a prime investment haven in Central Luzon.

Mayor Concepcion explained the national government policy of dispersing industries outside of Metro Manila and improving infrastructure projects in the countryside have opened the great potential for manufacturing and commercial sectors to invest in the country’s first export processing zone.

He said the  implementation of various large-scale infrastructure projects  like the Bataan-Cavite Bridge, transshipment port and harbor terminal, commercial  centers, standard factory buildings and housing projects, hotels and  setting-up Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centers would surely make Bataan a indispensable investment site.

Mayor Concepcion and the Sangguniang Bayan have jointly prepared a strategic socio-economic plan with the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) for logical and systematic approaches of providing investment procedures for the benefit of local and foreign locators in this fast growing industrial town.

Describing the geographical location, infrastructure facilities, highly skilled manpower, according to Mayor Concepcion the town would become the site of the San Miguel Corporation Special Economic Zone near the boundaries of Mariveles and Bagac towns and the expansion of coal powered plant which ensure sufficient, lower rate and uninterrupted power service to locators.

The FAB, regarded as the fastest growing Freeport in the country, is located at the mouth of Manila Bay and near two leading freeports Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority  (SBMA)  and the Clark Economic Zone in Pampanga which determines the strong entrepreneurial advantages on the part of local and foreign capitalists.
