Mariveles holds DepEd Night

MARIVELES, Bataan – Public elementary school teachers in this town displayed their dancing skills during the DepEd Night held on February 15 at People’s Park, this town.

“Our public school teachers gamely participated in the contest to the delight of the crowd seeing the other side of them”, said SB Chairman of the Committe on Education Councilor Tito Catipon who organized and handled the event.

“BEPZ Elementary School emerged winner, which is their second time in a row”, he also said.

Aside from Catipon, Mayor AJ Concepion, Councilors Joey Carandang and Susan Murillo and other officials graced the event.

DepEd Night is one of the activities lined up for the town’s 73rd Liberation Day celebration this year that will culminate on the last Sunday of February.

The contest started during the time of former mayor Jesse Concepcion and since then has become one of the much-anticipated annual fiesta event, Catipon said.

Every year, municipal officials here prepare month-long activities to entertain local folks and make the celebration more spirited.

The leadership tandem of Concepcion and Vice Mayor Lito Rubia is putting premium on education with backing from the members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
