BALANGA CITY, Bataan- A -62 year old housewife is highly optimistic about the on-going upswing in construction of boarding houses near the fast emerging industrial zone in Central Luzon .
Mrs. Zenaida A. Rollie of Barangay San Isidro, Mariveles town, this province, identified the country’s first export processing zone which is leading toward a top-level industrial investment hub category is a good prospect for boarding house business with the influx of job seekers from nearby provinces
Mrs.Rollie ,whose husband is a housing contractor in the province, said her husband has built a number of boarding houses for industrial workers and commercial traders and the entry of more skilled and semi-skilled manpower with reports of local and foreign locators have started evaluating the highly competitive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives ,reliable infrastructure and power facilities, and other strategic advantages of the Freeport Area of Bataan(FAB).
She explained the important role of the local government programs of providing medical, infrastructure, social, educational and other crucial services to the residents, have motivated private housing firms to wholly engage in constructing housing facilities to accommodate migrants from Metro Manila and other areas in Central Luzon.
In a related development, with the expected investment inflow, Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion reported that one significant characteristic of good financial outlook of Mariveles town is the projected plan of the country’s largest food conglomerate to establish a 500 hectare special economic zone in the coastal villages of Mariveles and Bagac towns facing the panoramic West Philippine Sea.
He said the project includes the construction of a multi-billion peso coal powered plant, the second San Miguel Corporation coal-fired generating firm after the newly-operational facility in Barangay Lamao, Limay town.
Thousands of workers from other regions are presumed to seek employment opportunities and commercial businesses to operate in the two coastal towns of Mariveles and Bagac towns when the proposed special economic zone starts its operation in few years.
