Balanga City bags 4 regional honors in DILG’s Pagmaya Awards

Balanga City has clinched four major awards from the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) “Pagmaya” program, which recognizes outstanding local governments for their efforts in cleanliness, environmental protection, and peace and order.

 

Mayor Raquel Garcia personally accepted the accolades alongside officials from the City Agriculture Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, and barangay leaders from Cupang Proper and Puerto Rivas Lote. City Local Government Operations Officer Mildred Sazon also joined the ceremony.

 

Barangay Cupang Proper, under the leadership of Barangay Captain Alice Sacdalan, was hailed as Lupong Tagapamayapa Regional Winner. Meanwhile, Balanga City earned recognition as the Fisheries Compliance Audit (FishCA) Regional Winner and National Nominee.

 

The City also secured 2nd Place in the Regional Manila Bayani Awards, while Barangay Puerto Rivas Lote, led by Barangay Captain Ricardo Sioson Jr., placed 3rd in the Regional Barangay Environmental Compliance Audit (BECA). These achievements underscore Balanga’s dedication to both environmental management and community peacekeeping.

 

Mayor Garcia lauded the collective effort of city employees, barangay officials, and residents, stressing that the awards mirror Balanga’s continuing vision of becoming a progressive, sustainable, and peace-driven city.
