Balanga City welcomes new BIR Officer, eyes stronger tax campaign in Bataan

Balanga City Mayor Raquel Garcia welcomed newly appointed Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Officer Ellerton Dangatan, signaling a strengthened partnership between the agency and the Balanga City government to improve public service delivery.

Mayor Garcia said the collaboration will focus on enhancing coordination in tax administration and compliance, as both sides discussed expanding tax awareness campaigns to ensure residents are better informed and more engaged in fulfilling their tax obligations. She noted that increased awareness is key to improving voluntary compliance and supporting local development initiatives.

The BIR Revenue District Office No. 20 (RDO-20), which covers the province of Bataan, is responsible for the assessment, collection, and enforcement of internal revenue taxes within its jurisdiction. It oversees taxpayer registration, audits, and compliance monitoring, playing a crucial role in generating government revenue that funds public services and infrastructure projects across the province.
