BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Representative Jose Enrique S. Garcia lll of the 2nd district of the province is optimistic that the enactment of Senate Bill 2133 or An Act Further Strengthening the Powers and Functions of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) would accelerate the development of the province.

The re-elected legislator explained the bill, once signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte would create a model business center and one-stop-shop for locators providing AFAB certain powers for expansion outside the FAB territory to generate prospective locators for more investment portfolios in the province.
He cited the case of Mount Samat National Shrine, one of the first five tourism priority areas identified under Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) in the country which is expected to attract foreign and local investors for its role during the last World War ll and other pertinent historical significance.
The approval of the Senate Bill would allow FAB and local government units in the province to work for the establishment of an industrial zone under the Public –Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.
