BAGAC, Bataan- Mayor Ramil del Rosario on Tuesday announced various preparations of this town as one of the host sites for the Asia – Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit scheduled in 2015.

The construction of a seaport and coast way are being rushed at the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in this town, where world leaders from 19 countries will convene.  Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a world-class resort with hotel and heritage houses from various regions in the country were carefully dismantled and restored to their original design.

“The port has to be finished June this year,”  del Rosario said. The Bagac mayor also said that he has requested Public Works Sec. Rogelio Singson for a funding allocation of more than P250 million for the renovation of the municipal building,  widening of Gov. J.J. Linao national road and construction of the sidewalk along the Poblacion road.

He said that the present condition of the municipal building is no longer suitable to the workforce and for the transacting public.

A portion of the national road from Balanga City to the APEC site also needs widening to serve as bike lanes, he said.

Bagac is famous for its sandy beaches along the West Philippine Sea and “with the visit of world leaders and their spouses, our beautiful beaches will be further exposed to the world and that will mean more tourists coming in,” del Rosario said.
