Balanga celebrates 61st Public Library Day


In celebration of the 61st Public Library Day, the Balanga City Government conducted a storytelling activity for day care students at the city library on Monday.

Thirty-seven children with their parents participated in the story-telling activity.

Mayor Francis Garcia who personally joined the story-telling event asked parents to encourage their children to read.

“I am a book-reader myself, and I want children to start reading books and learn more”, said the mayor.

He invited children to always visit the children’s section of the city library.

The leadership tandem Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon has initiated programs to improve the quality of education in the city like the establishment of Barangay Learning Hubs.

They will also put television in daycare classrooms.

The top two city officials with the support of other members of Sangguniang Panlungsod is responsible for many laudable programs of the city in the aspects of, aside from education, health, barangay empowerment, child protection, and solid waste management among others.
