Bataan is in the forefront of eco-industrial growth

BALANGA CITY, Bataan –The historic peninsula is in the forefront of eco-industrial prosperity category in Central Luzon with the expected influx of investors in manufacturing, commercial leasing port facilities, housing and other infrastructure  projects.

Board Member Rolabdo Z.Tigas, Bataan Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP)  chair of two principal  committees on Infrastructure, Housing and Land Utilization has enumerated the impressive status of the local economic atmosphere  being in the lowest bracket of poverty and unemployment index in the country, expanding government and private health services, topnotch  performance in  educational rating, and other quality social services rendered to the growing population.

He cites the presence of well-established economic zones and industrial estates, port warehouse and depot, first-class road network and other viable locations which make the province as one of the feasible industrial growth areas in the Western Central Luzon corridor.

As a former town executive, Board Member Tigas has stressed the institution of fundamentally sound Socio-Economic Development Strategy of Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia and the economic approaches formulated by two Bataan legislators, Reps. Geraldine Roman and Jose Enrique Garcia lll of the first and second congressional districts respectively, have immensely contributed in promoting the province into an eco-industrial hub.

According to Board Member Tigas, more opportunities for private await locators to participate in productive income generating ventures like putting up industrial plants and other labor-intensive factories in designated growth areas of the province in conformity with the national government policy of decongesting Metro Manila of huge manufacturing firms.

He explained that a number of prominent real estate and property developers from Metro Manila have started  building commercial centers and offices  and housing  projects for workers and the preparation for the eventual inflow of population from other Central and Northern Luzon provinces with the anticipated  expanding investments.

Likewise, the business incentive packages and adequate basic requirements of stable power and water supply, availability of highly-skilled and professional manpower, good governance, strategic location from Metro Manila and other lucrative advantages  would  make Bataan a more competitive investment destination.
