The Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) headed by Dr. Rosanna Buccahan held an emergency meeting regarding the confirmed local transmission of Coronavirus Disease 2019 and its increasing number of cases in Metro Manila, raising the alert level Code Red Sub Level 1 yesterday, March 11 at Lou-is Restaurant.
In attendance were Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia, City of Balanga Mayor Francis Garcia, municipal health workers, representatives of public and private hospitals, private industries, punong barangays, representatives of local and national offices and other stakeholders. Discussed in the said meeting is the current situation of Covid 19 in the national level as well as in the Province. Highlighted during the said meeting is the creation of Bataan Outbreak Response Team that will hold office at Metropolitan Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) compound, in the event that alert level Code Red Sub Level 1 is raised in Bataan.
As of March 11, 2020, six (6) Patients under Investigation (PUI) tested NEGATIVE and 100 out of 108 Patients under Monitoring (PUM) have completed the 14-day quarantine period and were discharged.
Amid the current global health issue, the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB), the Department of Health (DOH), Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) are committed to provide quality services with the assurance that all health facilities are prepared.
A total of 160 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been distributed to the different municipalities and lone city as part of the Province’s augmentation.
