The Provincial Tourism Office is formulating a cohesive strategic plan to ascertain the maximum potentials of the rich natural resources, historical and cultural sites of the Bataan peninsula to attain high level of tourism and leisure industry.
Ms. Alice D.Pizarro, Bataan provincial tourism officer, is outlining cultural and historical tourism development program to expedite the conduct of tourism resource inventory including the availability of the province’s attractions, existing luxury beach resorts facilities and structures, world-class amenities and service providers.
She reiterated the objective of the PTO to reach out to stakeholders by conducting consultations, workshops, meetings and important conferences to elicit input and viable travel concepts in planning the sustainable tourism development of Bataan.
With the growing tourism industry, Ms. Pizarro said the Bataan National Park, with its verdant forest which remains unexplored, could be developed, packaged and promoted.
With the implementation of the tourism program, the number tourist arrivals, about 700,000 both local and foreign, last year is expected to multiply. Pizarro said she would encourage concerned tourism officers in the municipalities to document tourism-related activities and promotions in their area for
