MARIVELES, Bataan – Engr. Emmanuel Pineda, chairman-administrator of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), just signed a memorandum of agreement with Virgilio Pagulayan, (right) president/CEO of BizLink Philippines, Inc.to develop 27,000 hectares of land within the Freeport Area of Bataan.
The Korean company will invest 1 billion dollar to develop export-oriented areas in the reserved areas in a coastal village of Alas-asin in Mariveles.
The investor, Pineda said, will employ around 10,000 workers in addition to he present 41,000 at the FAB.
When fully operational, BizLink may donate hospital facilities within the FAB area, Pineda explained. Just recently, Bataan Gov. Abet Garcia and local officials of Mariveles led by Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion opened the Mariveles District Hospital, a stone’s throw away from the FAB facilities.
The BizLink officials indicated as they go along, the company may develop road networks and piers need for their operation.
