“Math Love: Give by One, Share by Two and Apply by Three”

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – To develop the spirit of giving without expecting any return, the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Mathematics Society led by Bachelor in Secondary Education-Math IV students spearheaded an outreach program at the MP Cuaderno Sr. Elementary School, Sibacan, this City, last December 4.

“Masaya at magaan sa pakiramdam na kami ay nakakatulong. It is a matter of give and take lang naman. As a future educator, nai-a- apply namin ang aming napag-aralan at napa-practice ang aming propesyong napili. At iyon ay ang mag-share ng aming kaalaman sa mga nangangailangan. We wanted to pay forward and share everything we know for those who are in need,” said Mr. John Lester Isidro, Math Society President.

Sixty students from MP Cuaderno ES participated in the event while 35 members of BPSU MathSoc headed by Ms. Jocelyn Ramirez, Math IV class president served as facilitators.

A teambuilding activity, composed of four stations such as reading, jigsaw puzzle, counting and singing, was held. Other activities such as oral reading, oral Math question and answer, games such as stop dance and the boat is sinking were also executed.

“After ng activities, nagpakain kami ng spaghetti, sandwich tsaka juice,” said Mr. Isidro.

The overall program revolved around the theme “Math Love: Give by One, Share by Two and Apply by Three”
