Congressman Joet bares masterplan for 2nd district

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Congressman Joet Garcia in a press conference, made known to the media people his comprehensive plan providing a long range of vision for the six municipalities of Mariveles, Limay, Orion, Pilar, Balanga City and Bagac in the 2nd district of Bataan.

 

That just like what he did when he was the city mayor of Balanga City, making rounds in the different barangays for consultation during “Barangay Day,” he finds it effective to continue the same, now with his “congressional barangay day.”

 

Congressman Joet stressed that in his visit to municipalities, he will take two barangays in a day. He said that he has already visited two barangays in each of the six (6) municipalities and plans to visit one (1) barangay a week in the second district next year to really reach out and engage with people and officials of the community.

 

During “Congressional Barangay Day,” where Cong. Joet states that health is of prime importance, they start with a dance exercise or “hataw” at 6am, followed by a medical mission, discussion of the peace and order situation of the place, online jobs for employment, Educhild – emphasizing the importance of a close knit family ties and consultation with the barangay officials.

 

It is during barangay consultations, Congressman Garcia explained, that the need for the officials to discuss and plan a year ahead their priority projects for their community is emphasized. He simply said that “no plan means no fund” because said plan shall be the basis in justifying budget he will ask for the 2nd district.

 

Among his priority bills being drafted are the Institutionalization of the Seal of Good Local Governance, Community based Management system wherein instead of waiting for three (3) years for PSA to have another survey, he wants real time survey updating through local NSO, Implementation of the Situs Taxation – that is payment of taxes to the locality where you earn it, the Inclusion of Computer Science in the K-12 curriculum, as the saying of modern people, “if you learn technology, you can change the world” and the establishment of the Local Education Zone among others.
