Congresswoman Roman supports proposed NFA Act of 2018

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – NFA-Bataan employees, headed by Provincial Manager Adelaida C. Nuestro visited the office of Bataan First District Representative, Hon. Geraldine B. Roman, in Orani last May 4, to discuss the current NFA rice situation in the province.

Despite her busy schedule, due to the visit coinciding with the Representative’s “People’s Day”, where she listens to the issues and concerns of the citizens of her district, Congresswoman Roman graciously met with PM Nuestro and her staff, Operations Officer Maribeth Magcaling and Acting Information Officer, Coco P. Reyes.

After a brief discussion on the status of NFA rice in the province and the entire country, Congresswoman expressed her willingness to help NFA in improving the plight of farmers, the grains industry and the consuming public.

PM Nuestro then presented a copy of the proposed NFA Act of 2018, which aims to strengthen the National Food Authority, thereby improving the food and grains industry and ensure food security for Filipinos.

Congresswoman Roman readily expressed her enthusiasm in sponsoring the bill and seeking the support of her fellow representatives. She added that she is more than happy to support the food and grains industry to ensure access of the consuming public to good quality and affordable rice.
