CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Department of Health-Bataan presented the agency’s program tagged as “Philippine Health Agenda (PHA)” from the national level down to the barangays held last Wednesday, November 9 at the Crown Royale Hotel, this City.
“Meron po tayong mga garantiya na ginawa ng ating pangulo o yung tinatawag na three thrusts: service delivery network, protection of all life stages and the triple burden of diseases,” he further explained.
Included in Pres. Duterte’s health-related priorities/pronouncements are: (1) to strengthen the implementation of the responsible parenthood and reproductive health law to enable especially poor couples to make informed choices on financial and family planning; (2) invest in human capital development including health and education systems and match skills and training to meet the demand of business and private sector; and (3) shift to federalism and war against drugs.
According to the PDO, Pres. Duterte’s vision is “Healthy Filipinos for 2022” which means that by the year 2022, all Filipinos will become healthy as the government strives to strengthen its partnership with different agencies to achieve “All for Health towards Health for All.”
In line with this, Mr. Noel Joseph Valdecañas, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Health Committee Chair, pledged to support all health programs through legislation and their guidance.
Apart from the orientation on PHA, Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, Provincial Health Officer, gave updates on dengue, rabies, emerging and re-emerging diseases together with Mr. Michael Baluyot, surveillance coordinator.
