DOT cites Bataan town tourism development scheme

ORANI, Bataan – A top official of the Department of Tourism (DOT) in Central Luzon is extremely optimistic of the local government of Orani town travel and tourism industry development plan as a big boost to agro-forestry, cultural and historical program to achieve eco-tourism growth.

Ms. Carolina Uy, DOT regional director for Region 3, has observed the creative variation of farm lands and fishponds, noteworthy nature parks adjacent to extinct volcano of Mount Natib and majestic ecological richness of Bataan National Park and other sightseeing tour of   highly-esteemed historical and cultural legacy of the peninsula.

The regional DOT team and municipal tourism office are having greater leverage of exploring and finding remarkable discovery of sights as top priority in the list of unique and unusual places to be included in the regional tourist itinerary.

The government’s major thrust of intensifying countryside travel and tourism is another meaningful opportunity for the rural folks to delve into the production of souvenir items, preparation of food and fruit delicacies, tour guides and other amenities which would encourage small and medium entrepreneurs to participate in multi-facet productive activities.

Ms. Uy has specified in her one-day tour of Orani town  the other day during a press conference that the town has numerical advantages with the temporary closure of Boracay, the country’s leading tourist spot, foreign visitors and local guests would look for valuable alternative locations in the periphery of Central Luzon.

About a good number of the families in the  present population of 70,000 residents would be directly benefitted by the implementation of countryside tourism development scheme since the municipality  is strategically located near the country’s  three largest economic zones namely Freeport Area of Bataan, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and Clark Economic Zone.
