DTI to establish Negosyo Centers in Bataan

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Wednesday announced the establishment of Negosyo Centers in the province of Bataan.

Nelin Cabahug, provincial director of DTI-Bataan said that last week a learning session on Republic Act 10644 (Go Negosyo Act,) authored by Senator Bam Aquino, was held with DTI officials and staff along with the officials of the local government unit (LGU) of Dinalupihan.

“This new law aims to strengthen the partnerships between the LGUs, national government agencies concerned and other public and private partners towards SME (small and medium enterprises) development in the province,” Cabahug told newsmen during the Kapihan sa DTI held at their provincial office in Capitol Drive.

Cabahug added that the first Negosyo Center was established this year at the DTI Bataan office and the second one will be located inside the municipal hall of Dinalupihan. Each succeeding year, starting next year, other Negosyo Centers will also be established in other towns of the province.

“Go Negosyo Act” also aims to foster national development, promote inclusive growth, and reduce poverty by encouraging the establishment of MSMEs that facilitate local job creation, production and trade in the country.

Among its salient features include promotion of “job generation and inclusive growth through the development of MSMEs in the country thru the establishment of “Negosyo Centers” in all provinces, cities and municipalities thereby promoting ease of doing business and facilitate access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction.

“Technology transfer, production and management training, and marketing assistance for MSMEs and the establishment of a Philippine Business Registry Databank under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to serve as a database of all business enterprises in the country will also be given priority under this program,” Cabahug added.
