PILAR, Bataan – Eight elementary schools from all over the province competed in the Drum and Lyre Competition held at J.J. Linao Avenue, this town, April 9, in line with the 75th Araw ng Kagitingan celebration.
Architect Christina Banzon Head of Provincial Tourism Office, Mayor Ace Jelo Concepcion of Mariveles and Mayor Alice Pizarro of Pilar graced the event.
The participants exhibited their on point skills on musical instruments such as drums and xylophones, and the baton and flag twirling act of the majorettes that left the crowd in awe and amusement.
Orani South Elementary School championed the competition and took home the grand prize of twenty five thousand cash and a trophy. Balut Elementary School from Pilar and Bagac Elementary School placed 2nd and 3rd respectively. Meanwhile, Lamao (Limay) Elementary School received the Kenji Mori’s Choice award, sponsor of the event.
