Exceptional dev`t of Pilar town agricultural community seen

PILAR, Bataan- Mayor Alice Dizon Pizarro is optimistic about the unprecedented transformation from agricultural community into a bustling commercial district of Barangay Ala-Uli, a gateway to historic Mount Samat and heritage resort of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac town.

Pizarro cited the upcoming business operation of multi-million peso Star Mall complex, one of the largest shopping malls in the country, before May this year located near the boundary of Pilar town and Balanga City is viewed as a big boost to the local socio-economic prosperity.

About hundreds of small and medium enterprises in the province have shown intense interest to participate to put up Filipino-type restaurants, fruit stands, souvenir shops and other commercial establishments near the periphery of the Star Mall for shopping enthusiasts, foreign and local tourists.

According to reports, Pizarro explained that the new shopping complex may generate more than 5,000 direct jobs for sales clerks and several offices to be occupied by business process outsourcing (BPO) firms.

The integrated mixed-use Star Mall project along the province’s major thoroughfare would greatly enhance prospects that will contribute to the economic growth of Bataan as one of the leading business hubs in Central Luzon, Pizarro said.

She added the local officials of Pilar are preparing a comprehensive feasibility study and zoning plan to identified areas suitable for commercial, services and other business type operations with the projected thriving economic activity.
