BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Public elementary school children vying for “Mr. and Miss Futuristic Faces 2016” wearing costumes made of recycled materials rode in colorful floats adorned with recyclable items, too, and paraded around this City, Friday morning.
Some 12 male and 22 female candidates from the Balanga Elementary School in Barangay Talisay were in nine floats transformed from owner-type jeep, tricycles and even a truck crane.
She said the school is on the second year transforming wastes into usable items.
Some children sported costumes decorated with large CDs and computer keyboard. Some floats were adorned with used bicycle tires and other recycled materials. Asked why futuristc, Venegas said it was already a high-level project having in mind year 2020.
City officials led by Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III envision Balanga City as a University Town in 2020 comparable to the best education centers in the world.
