Galing Bataan Awards, now an award giving body

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Governor Albert Garcia, in his capacity as governor of the province of Bataan and by virtue of law, created the “Galing Bataan Awards” to recognize the exemplary contribution and performance of cooperatives, MSME’s and corporate citizens of the province that contributed to the efficient, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Bataan.

In addition, Galing Bataan Awards was conceptualized to acknowledge the ingenuity, craftsmanship, expertise and excellence of the products and services of entrepreneurs, cooperatives and businessmen of this area.

Thru Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ordinance No. 2, the program was institutionalized, providing for the creation of the Awards Committee and the Board of Judges which will promulgate the rules and regulations establishing the criteria, qualifications, categories of the awards and the selection process as well as the prizes to be given away.

The Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO), headed by Ms. Azucena Sugatain, shall act as the secretariat of the “Galing Bataan Awards” and the Board of Judges for all categories.

All cooperatives, MSME’s and corporate citizens are encouraged to join the contest provided that they meet the qualifications and satisfy the standards set by the screening committee in the selection process.

The awarding shall be held annually starting year 2017, the date is still to be determined by the awards committee.
