BALANGA CITY, Bataan – To once and for all fully promote the total tourism package of each municipality and have someone who will take full responsibility for all these tourism activities, 1st District Board Member (BM) Aristotle Gaza of Hermosa and Chairman of the Committee on Tourism at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, proposed in his resolution the installation of a permanent tourism office and the creation of a permanent position for a tourism officer per municipality thereon.

BM Gaza stated that if we want each municipality to really have a total promotion of their products, services and places of interest, then the need for a permanent focal person to address all the concerns, the plans of action and implementation of the same, more so, the coordination of said regular person at the Provincial level.

Gaza also said that actually the honorary chairperson of the tourism activity in each municipality is the wife of the Mayor, but definitely we cannot put the load of all tourism activities on them precisely because they are not employees of said municipality, and the fact that they have their own responsibilities at home, for their families, hence the need for a tourism officer.

BM Aris added that it’s hard to come up with a grand provincial tourism activity, the likes of Pawikan Festival in Morong, Trade Fairs, Araw ng Kagitingan, and others, if every time there’s a meeting, the one attending is not the same person supposed to be in charge and decide for the said activity, thus no continuity nor commitment in the participation to said project.
