GGGI conducts 3-day workshop

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – After the successful capacity assessment on the Mainstreaming Green Growth in Development Planning Project last July 25, the Provincial Government of Bataan through the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) in coordination with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) conducts a training workshop from September 5-7, 2017, at the Bataan Library and Youth Development Center, this city.

The workshop aims to broaden the knowledge and understanding on green growth concepts and practices, to be familiar with green growth planning methodologies, tools, and approaches, and to gain knowledge on sectoral linkages to enhance green growth planning.

Day 1 of the event included 3 sessions: (1) introduction of Green Growth and (2) selected Global Green Growth experiences which were both presented by Ms. Maricor Muzones (Project Lead, GGGI), and (3) Green Growth planning guidelines and approaches which was discussed by Mr. Ross de Leon (Supervising EDS, NEDA RDS).

The next day will include session 4 (Green Growth planning guidelines and approaches), presentations about Bataan’s power distribution utility by PENELCO and NGCP, and a site visit at GN Power Mariveles Coal Plant.

The last day, it will include sessions 5 and 6 (statistics for local development planning, and wealth accounting and valuation of ecosystems services), workshop on practice set on local statistics, and presentations on the MSME development framework and MSME sector in Bataan.

Participants of the event are representatives from GGGI, NEDA RDS, DTI, and different departments of PGB.
