BATAAN CAPITOL – Governor Abet S. Garcia on Monday announced that the 44-kilometer Bagac-Mariveles bypass road as part of the province’s circumferential major roads network is nearing its completion.
“Kapag nabuo itong 44 km. (road) na ito, wala na pong gap from the Roman Expressway pwede kayong pumunta ng back door Bagac, Mariveles dere-deretso sa bayan ng Bagac, Morong labas ng Subic labas ulit ng Hermosa at Dinalupihan then back to Roman Expressway,” Garcia explained to the provincial government officials and employees after the traditional flag raising ceremonies.
The project started in 2013 when Governor Abet Garcia was then the representative of the province’s 2nd district. Last week, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar visited the area in Barangay Binuangan where he assured the governor that the remaining 4km. rough road will be funded to complete the project.
Garcia added that once the bypass road is completed, travel time will be shortened particularly from Morong to Mariveles where it usually takes two hours. It will also boost economic and tourism activities in the area.
The governor also cited the breathtaking sceneries that motorists would see while traversing the said bypass road.
“This will become a tourism site of the province with great views of the West Philippine Sea and the mountains on the other side as opposed to the industrial sites of Manila Bay. Nandun yung magagandang resorts like the Camaya Coast at marami pa pong white sand coves,” Garcia added.
