He further added that the Alaga Ka para sa Maayos na Buhay program is a collaboration among PhilHealth, DOH, local government units, and other stakeholders in the health sector to make sure that indigent families are properly instructed on how to avail basic health services in rural health units.
Also included in the program is the TSeKAP or Tamang Serbisyo para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya which provides consultations with doctors, regular blood pressure monitoring, counseling on breastfeeding, smoking cessation, screening services for cancer, and digital rectal exam.
President Benigno S. Aquino III launched the said program last March 24, 2014 in Quezon City and simultaneously in 17 regions of the country.
Among those services included under the Alaga Ka program are the provision of micronutrient supplements, maternal and neonatal care package, and family planning, aside from treatment package for tuberculosis and free health care services in public hospitals.
