HERMOSA, Bataan – An evening lit by breathtaking pyrotechnics highlighted the 262nd Hermosa Day as seven contenders from Luzon clashed in the first ever fireworks competition held at Brgy. Culis in this town on Tuesday.
Among the contestants are Skyglitters Enterprise and Enchanting Sky Enterprises of Valenzuela City, Pyrohaven Fireworks and Pyromount Fireworks of Bocaue, Bulacan, St. Michael Fireworks of Sta. Maria, Bulacan, Lascano Fireworks of Batangas, and A.L. Aquino Fireworks of Laguna.
According to Hermosa Councilor Rex Jorge during an interview, the idea of ‘bringing Mall of Asia’ to Bataan personally came from their Municipal Mayor Jopet Inton who hired an organizer for this big event.
More or less a thousand Hermosanians and tourists witnessed and filled the grounds despite the threat of a rainfall, and enjoyed the intermission numbers of bands Basic Mode and Sound Republic.
In the end, A.L. Aquino Fireworks- Laguna was declared the Grand Winner and received a cash prize of P150,000 plus a trophy.
The second spot went to Pyromount Fireworks- Bocaue, while the third placer was Lascano Fireworks- Batangas, receiving P100,000 and P50,000 respectively.
Jorge concluded that due to the success of this event, it will be repeated next year.
