The forthcoming opening of one of the country’s largest shopping mall conglomerates, SM Balanga City, this year would enhance trade and industry here.
Ms. Elsa Ilagan, chief of Balanga City Planning and Development Office (BCPDO), has predicted a more aggressive and robust economic path toward a progressive and self-sustaining community with the operation of the mega mall within the highly-urbanized business district of the city.
Ms. Ilagan disclosed that the two-storey commercial and property leasing mall, about 200 meters away from the city proper, would encourage micro, small and medium entrepreneurs from the province and Metro Manila to open up projects of locally –produced cottage industries and food items for mall habitués and foreign visitors.
With the latest development, the lady city planning officer said the entry of more entrepreneurs would provide a wider range of job opportunities for the residents, bigger revenues for the local treasury, expansion of housing projects, larger volume of local and foreign visitors and other advantages as programmed by Mayor Garcia for a newer and upgraded vision that could transform the city into a more attractive and business friendly status.
