Historian draws the line between truth and myth

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – During the Bataan Historical Symposium, which is part of the 262nd Bataan Day Celebration, held this morning,January 10, at the Bataan People’s Center, Dr. Cornelio Bascara, Ph. D., a respected historian from Mabatang, Abucay and an Associate Professor at the University of Sto. Tomas, gave an overview on the myths about the names of places here in Bataan. He also discussed the rise and fall of the economic status of Bataan at that time like the strong sugar industry and the war, respectively.
Bataan First District Representative Geraldine Roman, underscored the importance of this historical symposium.
Cash prizes were given to the attendees who gave the correct answers during the question and answer portion.
