Negosyo Serbisyong Barangay benefits small businessmen from COVID affected barangays

Small businessmen from COVID-19 severely affected 16 barangays in the province benefitted from Negosyong Serbisyong Baranagay (NSB) program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). DTI Bataan Provincial Director Nelin Cabahug said 8 beneficiaries were chosen from each barangay and each received P5,000 worth in kind assistance. “We determined what they need and we bought these for them like sari-sari store owners, we gave them merchandises “, said the DTI Bataan Head.

In the conduct of the NSB program in Brgy. Alion, Mariveles on Monday, an old female vendor got a cart, among others, which she will use for selling brooms. DTI Bataan information officer Tess Magtanong shared that the vendor was compelled to sell her old cart to have food during the pandemic. Cabahug said it was the Provincial Health Office that relayed to DTI Bataan the 16 COVID-19 worst affected barangays in the province. She happily announced that Orion Mayor Tonypep Raymundo pledged to give additional P5,000 each to NSB beneficiaries in his town while Balanga Mayor Francis Garcia and Samal Mayor Aida Macalinao each committed additional P3,000 to beneficiaries in their respective towns.
