Limay holds leaders’ forum for peace and security

LIMAY, Bataan – Recognizing the crucial role of peace and order in attaining progress, Mayor Ver Roque initiated the conduct of “Leaders’ Forum for Peace and Security” in this first class industrial town.

Aside from Mayor Roque, the half-day forum held recently in this town’s multi-purpose hall, was attended by Bataan PNP Director Rhodel Sermonia, Limay police Chief Felix Castro, policemen, officials of the 12 barangays, and leaders of concerned NGOs. Professor Hernando Sta. Ana served as resource speaker.

In his message, Roque urged law enforcement sectors and NGOs to have compassion and love for the family and community to preserve peace towards progress.

Yolly Paulo, provincial directress of Police Hotline Movement Incorporated (PHMI) and resident of Barangay Townsite, was one of the NGO leaders who participated in the forum. “We can be strong and powerful if we will act as a team”, she messaged.

The PHMI, a national peace-keeping organization formed by former Police General Edgar Aglipay, has an active chapter in the province. Roque has been tapping the group for assistance in the maintenance of peace and order in this town. Paulo said they have at least 300 volunteer-members all over the province, particularly in the towns of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Limay, and Samal.
