BALANGA CITY, Bataan- Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has encouraged land and housing developers, commercial building owners and manufacturing firms to institute in their architectural designs, environmental friendly-structures in the whirling of erratic global weather changes.
Garcia instructed Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) chief, Engr. Enrico Yuzon to hold regular dialogues with housing and subdivision developers, industrial and commercial proprietors to formulate a long range development plan that will serve as a model to protect the ecosystem.
As a former representative of the Province’s second district, Garcia has perceived that with the rapid socio-economic growth of Bataan which is fast becoming an industrial hub of Central Luzon, a-well prepared strategic plan to overcome the threats of global variation is necessary.
He stressed during the interview that to keep away from climate disaster, urban planners have to exercise technical prudence to develop a defensive mechanism which would mitigate the intensity of natural calamities across the Bataan peninsula.
According to Engr. Yuzon, a PEO study revealed that the upsurge in local economy is considered as one of the major triggering factors of flooding; irresponsible waste disposal of commercial, industrial and households and the problem of encroachment which affect the smooth and continuous flow of waters to Manila Bay .
He added that Governor Garcia wants an honest to goodness comprehensive development plan that would strictly include environmental safeguards and other descriptive degree of insuring ecological balance for the safety of the residents.
