One Bataan, in good and bad times


CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Office of the Civil Defense Regional Director Marlou Salazar together with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) Chief Josefina Timoteo, Provincial Administrator Ludivina Banzon, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan members awarded checks worth Php10,000 to each of the five families who lost their loved ones during onslaught of Tropical Depression Josie, during the flag raising ceremony this morning, November 12 at the Bataan People’s Center, this City.

A total of 300 cavans of rice and 1,000 hygiene kits were also donated by the Office of Civil Defense to the typhoon victims.

According to Arcel Cordova, one of the beneficiaries, who lost her husband said she will use it for their business to sustain their daily needs.

“It is a big help for us especially for me. I can use it for the education of my children,” said Aiza Guevarra who is also one of the beneficiaries of the cash assistance.

Office of the Civil Defense Regional Director Salazar commended the Provincial Government of Bataan for giving importance to quality growth and in attaining top level human development index not only in Bataan but in the Philippines. “I think by 2020 Bataan will surely achieve its goal” he added.
