OPA, ACPC, PCEDO, DA turn over PLEA checks

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) in collaboration with Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC), Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO), and Department of Agriculture (DA) conducted the check turnover ceremony and loan disbursement for Production Loan Easy Access (PLEA) Program to lending conduits for the Province of Bataan today, October 4, 2017, at Crown Royale Hotel, this City.

The PLEA Program is a credit facility designed to address the financial needs of marginal and small farmers and fisher folk for a fast, convenient, and affordable credit. It is one of the DA’s programs that helps ensure sustained growth in the farming and fisheries sector, support the aggressive marketing campaign of the Philippine products, revitalize the rural economy and address poverty in the countryside.

The ceremony was attended by farmers, fisher folks, and members of multi-purpose cooperatives from different towns in Bataan. Checks were given to the following MPCs:

1.       Abucay MPC – 20M pesos

2.       Dinalupihan MPC – 10M pesos

3.       CEMBA MPC – 5M pesos

4.       Iwahori MPC – 20M pesos

5.       Watchlife Workers MPC – 20M pesos

6.       Lingap Kapwa MPC – 5M pesos

7.       Kaizen MPC – 3M pesos

Short messages were given by Ms. Azucena Sugatain (Head, PCEDO), BM Jose Villapando Sr., Gov. Abet Garcia, Dir. Roy Abaya (Regional Executive Director, DA RFO III), Atty. Joycel Panlilio (Executive Assistant, DA Office of the Undersecretary), and Ms. Jocelyn Alma Badiola (Executive Director, DA-ACPC).
