BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Agriculturists form all over the region recently organized the Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA) Central Luzon Chapter, according to Dr. Hermogenes Paguia, Director of Extension Services of the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) and elected Business Manager of the chapter.
Initially, the chapter has a membership of 33 agriculturists. “The membership is likely to increase as provincial chapters are set to be organized”, said Paguia. He said among the initial projects of the organization are the conduct of regional conferences and creation of PAA Central Luzon Journal.
The first set of officers of the chapter who will serve for two years are President, Dr. Honorio M. Soriano Jr., University President of Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU); Vice President, Prof. Rudy Flores, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Auxiliary Services BPSU; Secretary, Dr. Norman G. De Jesus, Dean of the College of Agriculture Systems and Technology PSAU; Treasurer, Dr. Josefina C. Mananguit, Vice President for Research, Extension and Auxiliary Services Bulacan State Agricultural College; Auditor, Dr. Arthur Dayrit, Division Chief for Research and Development of Department of Agriculture 3; PRO, Dr. Arturo Aligado, Campus Director BPSU Abucay Campus; and Paguia. The chapter was organized at PSAU.
The PAA will hold its 3rd National Congress at PSAU in Magalang, Pampanga on November 3-6, 2015. The new officers of PAA Central Luzon Chapter are scheduled to take their oath at the congress.
