BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Provincial Government of Bataan through the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) conducted the distribution of free farm inputs and tools to ISF/CBFM beneficiaries this morning, August 14, 2017, at the capitol compound, this city.
The Integrated Social Forestry (ISF)/Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) beneficiaries are the former kaingeros that the government penalized in the past for the alleged faster degradation of the forest due to their slash-and-burning methods. Today, all these upland dwellers became beneficiaries through the ISF Program which was integrated into the CBFM program. They are now the stewards and partners of the government in the protection and conservation of our remaining forest lands.
Since these people belong to the less privileged sector in our society, they are very much dependent on forest resources for livelihood. That is why the government came to a decision that all concerned agencies shall work hand in hand to help alleviate their poor economic condition by providing them any form of assistance including financial, technical and other support services.
The PG-ENRO provides farm tools such as pick mattock, sickle, and knapsack sprayer, and farm inputs such as organic fertilizer, radish, ampalaya, pechay, zucchini, squash, winged bean, sitaw, and cucumber to these following beneficiaries:
The office is currently working on a proposal to provide the beneficiaries more sets of tools and inputs next year.
